Arrizo 8 Robot Review

So, overall first impressions of the Chery Arrizo EIGHT? Honestly, I was pretty blown away. I’d seen the pictures online, but seeing it in person, the design is really something else. It’s sleek, modern, and has a certain…presence. It feels more premium than you’d expect in this price range, and that’s a huge plus for me. The build quality feels solid too; there are no rattles or creaks, even on rougher roads. I’ve been driving it for a couple of months now, and I’m still turning heads.

Let’s talk about the exterior. The front fascia is striking, with those sharp LED headlights and the large, imposing grille. The lines are clean and well-defined, giving it a really sporty look. I particularly love the way the chrome accents are integrated – they’re subtle but effective. The side profile is equally impressive, with a long, sweeping roofline that gives it a really elegant feel. And the rear? The taillights are a standout feature; they’re sleek and modern, and they light up beautifully at night. The overall design is cohesive and well-executed, and I think it’s one of the best-looking cars in its class. The paint job is also excellent; it’s really glossy and feels very durable. I’ve had no issues with chipping or scratching so far. The ONE-EIGHT-inch alloy wheels complete the look perfectly.

Now, the big talking point – the robot automatic transmission. This is a CVT, but it’s not your typical CVT. Chery has done a really good job of making it feel smooth and responsive. There’s minimal engine drone, even under hard acceleration. It shifts seamlessly, and I haven’t experienced any of the rubber-band effect that plagues some CVTs. It’s surprisingly quick off the line, too. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by its performance. Of course, it’s not going to be as engaging as a traditional automatic or a manual, but for everyday driving, it’s perfectly adequate and even quite enjoyable. Fuel economy has also been excellent; I’m consistently getting around THIRTY-FIVE miles per gallon in combined city and highway driving. That’s a significant improvement over my previous car. The overall driving experience is very refined and comfortable.

Under the hood, we have a ONE point FIVE liter turbocharged engine. It’s not the most powerful engine on the market, but it’s more than sufficient for daily driving. It provides ample power for overtaking and merging onto highways. It’s also surprisingly fuel-efficient, as I mentioned earlier. The engine is relatively quiet, even when revved hard. There’s a bit of turbo lag, but it’s not overly noticeable. Overall, I’m very happy with the engine’s performance and efficiency. It’s a well-balanced powertrain that strikes a good compromise between performance and economy. I haven’t had any issues with reliability so far, and I’m confident it will continue to perform well for years to come.

So, let’s dive right into my experience with the Chery Arrizo EIGHT’s suspension and noise isolation. First off, the ride is surprisingly comfortable. I’ve taken it on various road surfaces, from smooth highways to bumpy city streets, and the suspension does a great job of absorbing most imperfections. There’s a noticeable firmness to it, which I appreciate – it doesn’t feel floaty or wallowy. However, larger potholes or really harsh bumps can still transmit a bit of a jolt. It’s not jarring, but you definitely feel them. As for noise isolation, it’s pretty good for its class. Wind noise is minimal, even at higher speeds. Road noise is also well-managed, though you’ll hear some tire roar on coarser surfaces. Engine noise is barely noticeable unless you really push the accelerator. Overall, I’d rate the suspension and noise isolation as above average for a car in this price range.

Now, let’s talk about the interior. The design is modern and sleek, with a good balance of style and practicality. The materials used feel mostly high-quality; there’s a good amount of soft-touch plastic, and the overall build quality feels solid. I particularly like the layout of the dashboard; everything is intuitive and easy to reach. The seats are comfortable and supportive, even on longer drives. There’s ample headroom and legroom, both in the front and the rear. One thing I really appreciate is the amount of storage space throughout the cabin. There are plenty of cup holders, door pockets, and a spacious center console. The only minor drawback I’ve found is that some of the plastics in the lower parts of the cabin feel a little less premium than those on the dashboard. But overall, I’m very happy with the interior of the Arrizo EIGHT.

Next up is the multimedia system. It’s a TEN-inch touchscreen, and it’s responsive and easy to navigate. The graphics are sharp and clear, and the interface is intuitive. It supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which is a huge plus for me. The sound system is also quite good, with clear and balanced audio. I’ve enjoyed listening to music and podcasts through it. The only minor complaint I have is that the screen can be a bit reflective in direct sunlight, making it slightly difficult to see at times. But overall, the multimedia system is a strong point of the Arrizo EIGHT.

Let’s move on to the trunk space. It’s surprisingly spacious for a car of this size. I’ve been able to fit a LOT of luggage in there without any issues. The opening is wide enough to easily load and unload larger items. There’s also a decent amount of underfloor storage for smaller items. I haven’t had any problems with the trunk space so far, and I’ve been very pleased with its practicality.

Finally, let’s discuss the drivability. The Arrizo EIGHT’s robot automatic transmission is smooth and responsive. Gear changes are seamless and almost unnoticeable. The engine is peppy enough for everyday driving, and it provides adequate power for overtaking. Fuel economy has been surprisingly good; I’ve been averaging around EIGHT kilometers per liter in mixed city and highway driving. The steering is light and responsive, making it easy to maneuver in tight spaces. The car handles well on the road, and it feels stable and confident even at higher speeds. Overall, the driving experience is enjoyable and refined, exceeding my expectations for a car in this segment.
